Condom "crime ring" arrested in Chengdu

Police apprehended a thief at the Wangfujing Department Store at Chunxi Lu earlier this month.
The suspect in question was a 17-year-old girl, and when the police brought her back to the station for investigation, they found the stolen goods crammed inside her bags—several large zippered "train station" bags.
The goods were condoms. Durex brand condoms. Sixty seven boxes in total, alongside 37 bottles of personal lubricant, three pounds of powdered milk, and 120 packets of chewing gum.
The police were quite confused as to why a 17-year-old girl, described as pretty and petite, would steal several thousand yuan worth of "adult products" from a department store. They concluded she must have been working in conjunction with others.
It turns out that the condom crime ring is composed of a group of eight women, aged 17 to 38, all from the same town Hunan province's Leiyang. They steal small, brand-name items and bring them back to Hunan where they are sold at prices lower than retail value.
