The Chengdu Urban Planning Bureau has long-term plans to turn Chengdu into a "3D City." What's a 3D city, you ask? The term, despite the fact that it sounds like science fiction, is real and refers to an incredibly gigantic building which can hold all the citizens of a city, animals, and everything else you can imagine. I just want to say, "Chengdu is a crazy city." You can catch a glimpse of the models at the Chengdu Industrial Museum until August 28.
The largest bus station in Chengdu is under construction. When it opens on the last day of 2010, the RMB509 million station will be home to 627 transportation vehicles bound for all parts of the province. A direct rail connection will be completed by late this year to transport passengers from the North Train Station to this bus station, located in the city's southeastern Shahebao area, near the Third Ring Road.
