Heavy rain and mudslides over the past several days have led nine cities and prefectures, including Ya'an and Aba, to declare a level-3 state of emergency.
Wenchuan County has also been particularly hard hit this season and has vowed to closely monitor weather changes in order to avoid further disasters. A slideshow of the storm damage in Mianzhu is here.
Storms have hit Guangyuan, Mianyang, Deyang, Chengdu, Ya'an, Mei Shan, Le Shan, Bazhong, Yibin, Aba, Ganzi, and Liang Shan.
The China Meteorological Administration declared the storms an emergency response class of 4 yesterday, but by noon the Sichuan Meteorological Bureau upgraded the emergency to level 3, granting the nine cities and regions immediate access to state-level emergency response.
