The Chengdu Commercial Daily reminds you that the ginkgo trees are turning yellow. Every year, starting in mid-November, the leaves start to fall and don't stop until December, to the delight of city residents and photographers.
With over 1,600 ginkgo trees, the University of Electronic Science and Technology campus is one of the best spots in Chengdu to view the yellow leaves (in 2004 campus authorities decided it would not clear the lawns of the fallen leaves), but the city has quite a few other streets lined with the trees:
Dacisi Jie, Hejiangting, Renmin Dong Lu at Xinhuayuan
Jinxiu Lu, Jinxiu Xiang (this narrow, 200-meter alley between two old apartment complexes boasts nearly 100 ginkgo trees, and at this time of year, photographers are a constant sight here. This year, cars are forbidden from entering the alley in order to reduce congestion for viewers), Jiangxi Jie Square
Jinli Dong Lu and Jinli Xi Lu (the trees here were planted in 1997), Xihuamen Jie, Jushuang Yuan, Yinxing Yuan
Jincheng Da Jie, Tianfu Dadao North Section
UESTC campus, Jianshe Bei Lu, Xiangmulin Jie
Yinxing Lu, Jinsha Lu, Weimin Jie
