Temporary blue construction walls have been taken down across a northwest-southeast line through the city, revealing just-finished red-orange Metro Line 2 stations.
The new line, which is expected to be in operation by November, ncompasses 20 stations with a total of 60 exit/entrance points: Chadianzi, Yangxi Flyover, Yipin Tianxia, Jinsha Ruins Site, Shuhan Lu East, Baiguolin, TCM University/People's Provincial Hospital, Tonghuimen, Jiangjunyamen, Chunxi Lu, Dongmen Daqiao, Niuwangmiao, Niushikou, Dongda Lu, Tazishan Park, Chengdu East Station, Chengyu Flyover, Huiwangling, Honghe, and the Chengdu Administration Institute.
An eastern extension to be opened later will add six stations to the line, among which three will be on elevated track. The line will interchange with Line 1 at Tianfu Square.
Apart from the color scheme, other departures from Line 1 station design include separate men's and women's toilets in Line 2 stations and glass-walled elevator shafts.
