The current exhibition "Dancing with the Gods" at the Jinsha Museum features 190 items of exquisite traditional wood carving art mainly masks and statues, but also some household items, witchcraft tools and furniture from the 17th to 19th century of West and Central African tribes.
Although all exhibit labels are in Chinese the exhibits are intriguing enough to justify a visit to the museum if you've never been to Jinsha, or missed the recent extensions.
The special exhibition is still on daily 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through May 3rd. The entrance is included to the normal ticket prices of RMB80 (students RMB60).
To get to Jinsha Site Ruins Museum (金沙遗址博物馆) take Subway line 2 and get off at Yipintianxia Station (一品天下站), Exit B and walk 10 min South to the East Gate of Jinsha Museum. From there walk to the Exhibition Hall, at the entrance turn right and take the escalators down to the basement.
