The powers that be in Chengdu have decided enough with the live music for now; it's time to turn to the club scene.
Occupying a prestigious space on new ancient pedestrian-street area Kuan Xiangzi, Nueva Musica (aka Jiupai) is a Tang-Dynasty-styled nightclub catering to the city's young and wealthy.
For the late spring and summer the club has launched a TMD Saturdays party series to kickstart Chengdu's not-much-going-on Saturday evenings. Started two weeks ago, turnout has been promising and the party's gone til the wee hours of the morning.
Advertising low mix drink and beer prices as well as sangria and free Smirnoff Mules "from 10 p.m. 'til the first person goes to the bathroom," party organizers also have lined up a rotation of local and foreign DJs spanning a variety of genres to keep the floor moving all night.
Tickets to the event are RMB30, but GoChengdoo has arranged with the organizers of TMD Saturdays to give five pairs of tickets to some lucky GoChengdoo readers!
How do you win? Send your GoChengdoo username in an e-mail with the subject line "TMD Giveaway" to chengdoo [at] gmail [dot] com. Registration for GoChengdoo is free.
The contest closes at 12 noon Beijing time on Saturday, May 9, 2009. The winner will be responsible for claiming his or her tickets at Nueva Musica.
Have fun, but don't let that free-flow Smirnoff offer give you a UTI!
Thanks to sponsors HATARI, DEF, 1626.COM and Nueva Musica.
