    • i just took a bus to zigong from the Wu Gui Qiao Bus Station to the east (you can find it in a chengdoo magazine map) a few weeks ago.

they have a quite a few running during the day, i got to the bus station at 11am and only had to wait 45 minutes for the next one leaving to go to zigong.

it took about 3 hours to get there i believe it took a little more on the way back because of traffic and the bus stopped at a different station coming into chengdu.

the cost of the tickets were 77 there and 60 back

      hope thats somewhat helpful

Appart from the dinosaur and salt museum, is there anything else you could recommend to see in or around Zigong? I've heard of two old towns nearby, but don't know if they are worth going.

there is a lighting festival/lantern exhibition in the new year season. it is kind of traditional festival locally in Zigong.

I found their official site at http://www.zgdh.com.cn/

"From Chengdu's Beimen Bus Station, buses run to Zigong frequently from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Another eight buses depart daily from the Wugui Qiao Bus Station. By bus, the journey takes around three hours. Five trains depart daily from the North Train Station and take between four-and-a-half and five-and-a-half hours."
