Does anyone know if any of the stores sell foreign spices/herbs? and better yet, are there any plant shops that sell basil or parsely (ect) or any other fresh herb plants?
thanks :)

hey,
carrefour, auchan, METRO, sabrina's all have them. METRO is the only one who sometimes has fresh ones, but i think it's rare. also they have the best selection, and you can purchase large containers which, if you cook regularly, will end up being a lot cheaper than the small bottles. otherwise AUCHAN has these paper packets that are quite cheap, under 10 kuai per bag, for dried spices.

Sunflower aka Grandma's on Renmin is selling off basil and other plants for around RMB 15. Just check their backyard.

Carrefour in the South has a selection, as well as Sabrina's. The cheapest place for bigger quantities seems to be the fishmarket (2nd floor) near Yanshikou. I've also heard of a spice market near the Lotus Market, but from what I've heard they have more Asian/Chinese spices.
