Health Insurance

Hi,
I'm relocating to Chengdu on November 4th and was wondering what I should do about Health Insurance? Do most self employed expats self-insure or are the reputable, functional providers and policies available?

There are health insurances from several companies. The problem is they only pay you off after you paid for your visits/operations, same with foreign health insurances. The administration was planing a Huaxi Hospital gold card for around RMB 10.000 which would include any kind of VIP treatment and they would cover the cost immediately. However last time I checked with the company they didn't know anything about it, so real health-insurance doesn't seem on the high-priority list to attract foreign investment.
