Visa run. Vietnam or HK?

- I will change my student visa to a work visa which means I must leave mainland China. Can anyone tell me which is the most stress-free, least hassle and easiest place to do this? Has anyone got any experiences with either Hanoi, Vietnam or Hong Kong?

- Hongkong is probably the easiest, fastest and cheapest. Fly to Shenzhen in the morning, take the airport bus to the border, cross the border at noon, take the subway one station return. I think my record was 2 hours for the border crossing-return trip. So there is enough time for a return flight back to Chengdu.
  Another more interesting option could be flying Air Asia to Kuala Lumpur when the tickets are cheap.
