have been here a few weeks, and i am having trouble finding a place to get protein powder, vitamins, and other weight lifting supplements. If any one has a store name, an address, or any additional information, i would greatly appreciate it!

You can try purchasing them online at taobao.com which is the largest online store in the country. I've purchased 2 brands of protein powders from:

http://trade.taobao.com/[...]and multivitamin from:

Hope that helps

Thanks so much for your response!!, I checked out your links, and unfortunately i can't read chinese, i also looked for an english version of the taobao website. There is an english attempt of the taobao website but it proves to be confusing and the search function yields no useful results, still searching,..

You can order whatever you need at Bodybuilding.com. It may take a few weeks to get here, especially if you choose a cheap delivery option, but the prices are reasonable and it is convenient. I usually order a year's worth of supplements at a time.

I live near minda university in the southwest past the 3rd ring road (basically in shuangliu) and they sell protein powder in the super crappy uni gym. I'm guessing you can probably buy it at the nicer gyms downtown as well and it will probably be better quality so you wont have to wait to have it shipped. Just go find a gym. If they have it it will be right behind the front counter or in the section where they sell exercise products (like shirts, water bottles and etc.). good luck

Most of the gyms are selling the same local brand in white, blue, red container lately. Seems to have replaced the copy BSN stuff that was floating around a couple of years ago. I don't trust it, figure since some companies had no problem dumping melamine in milk to up the protein count what are they willing to do for protein powder?
But I did notice the Ozone gym in Ren He Spring department store had NitroTech from Muscletech on sale. I didn't inquire about the price, but if you are charging 12,000 RMB for a membership I suspect the protein powder is no bargain either.
Otherwise the above mentioned Taobao or Bodybuilding.com are your best bets.
