    • Hiya, anybody know where the best shops for pirated non-Chinese movies are?
I see a lot of street vendors selling pirated Chinese movies, but not international movies. I was just in Shanghai and was blown away by the selection and quality there. Do we have anything like that in Chengdu?

It looks like it kind of died out. Def less international movies there. Computer city still has some vendors. Last time I went it was in a hidden room. Anyways all they do is download torrents and burn them on dvd and ask 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 kuai depending on the quality. You can DIY and just dl directly from kat.ph

    • If you like high-end English-language movies, by far the best vendors are on the Sichuan University campus. There's an astro-turf sport field near the South_Eastern corner of the campus, and there are several vendors near the South-East corner of the sports field. They have a LOT of excellent foreign movies, mostly for 8 yuan each, and also some academic lecture series in English. Also, many if not most popular long-running TV series (Buffy, The Office, 20 Rock, Lost, Dr Who, etc).
