    Hello everyone,

I have cell phone Samsung Star II, it can view Chinese characters but I can't type them. Is there a way how to "upgrade" the input options (it's not a smart phone) so I could type it? If so, how do I do it? Or is there in Chengdu a Samsung service center I could go to? thank you!

not sure what operating that phone is running, but you need to get an IME (Input Method Editor) for Chinese

if it's android google's pinyin input is good enough
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.inputmethod.pinyin&hl=en

but there are so many other free IME that may better suit your preferences

Thank you for the response. But the problem is that my phone doesn't have a operating system - it's just a regular cell phone.

If you didn't buy it in China, it probably doesn't have Chinese input.

Go into a message and then press down the bottom where you would change the keyboard/input type (Samsung Keyboard, Samsung Phonepad etc.) > select Options....... > Input method tab > Options

and see if there is an option for Chinese. If it's not there, you'll probably need to buy a new phone.
