This restaurant is pretty well hidden, and I kind of like it that way because it's nice to have the place all to ourselves. It's located behind Carrefour in the Great World Mall complex. It's a small restaurant with an open kitchen so you can watch your food as it's being prepared and cooked.
Overall I am pretty satisfied, considering my poor expectations with Italian food in Chengdu...
I ordered the "A Boluza style Lasagna". It was cheesy (didn't use ricotta), has an ample amount of meat with the addition of vegetables (different, but it worked well) - all baked and served in a glass dish. My friend had the caesar salad with chicken. The lettuce was well dressed with a delicious caesar dressing and the chicken used was not the lifeless chunks of white slivers of meat used in other salads elsewhere. The cuts are from a roasted chicken (something also from their menu) and the chicken was moist and actually tasted like chicken. Prices for items are 40RMB-80RMB for most of the dinner items and my friend and me were both satisfied with the portions and the prices.
Service is attentive and relatively speedy during a weekday dinner service.
Will definitely be going back.
