    Hot spring festival in Jellyfish!
Not only is the jellyfish not closing during the holidays, but also promise to be the most alive place in Chengdu throughout the holidays, just like it is every year! Tequila shots sell for 15Y from tonight all the way till Feb. 7!

The place everyone loves to hate. Everyone likes trash Jellyfish, but at the end of the day they all end up there. When everywhere else is empty and dead, you can always count on this place for having a full dance floor and having the fun you came for.

Seems like this area is going down – 2 times a pretty nasty fight when I was there during the last weeks; in my eyes a place for low-lifers or people with too much time.

A fish bowl full with kiddos and music you hear over and over again.
    Not my cup of tea.

Love it or hate it, you have to admit. What this bar does, it does best. Best cocktails, best DJs, prettiest girls.

Decked out with black walls, floors and furniture, its a simple interior but quite effective and cool-looking cocktail bar/club. It has two floors, but upstairs it is predominantly a pool table and a few comfy seats.

Downstairs there are some more sofas and tables at the back, a decent and well stocked bar and although there isn't a designated dance floor, there is a reasonably large space in front of the decks for up to about 30 people to pull some shapes. The outside seating area is a nice spot for chilling-out if you have been hitting the dance floor hard or for those wishing to have a conversation without shouting.

The biggest plus point for this venue is the friendly atmosphere; especially the barman and the owners who always make you feel welcome. The drinks are good and don't have Chengdu's familiar watered down taste, and as others have noted Yoni is talented craftsmen of cocktails, which are reasonably priced too.

The music is generally western and good enough to get a sizable crowd dancing. Its also in a good location next to Paname and the other bars around the Blue Caribbean.

I shall definitely be going back!

How exactly does the rating system work here? 9 raters give a total of 36 stars but the average is 3.5stars!?

Apart from that, jellyfish is my favorite bar in town, last Friday was really nice, when dj wu and b-kut played back to back.

The best place in Chengdu to hang out and meet hot babes. Also, the best DJ I've seen and heard in Chengdu, a really hot chick with blond hair plays on Friday nights, the best dance I've had since coming to China.
Best Mohito too. Really recommend this place.

Lacks personality for an expat bar. You may as well go to any Chinese bar. Saying that, I've had a couple of OK nights in this place. The music played is bland middle of the road dance music. The type that indicates to people who have stinky ears that they are currently having fun like some sort of fun-reminding klaxon. Occasionally some half decent hip hop is played too. Attracts girls due to the sparkling glittery glossiness and gender biased drink promotions.

Enjoyed all my visits to this bar. As mentioned below the mixed drinks are class. The only complaint i have is that the crowd often seems to be split between here and the venue next door and neither of them really ever feel full.

Not been here that much to be honest as I much prefer the bar next door.

A great new addition to Chengdu. The owners/staff are very friendly, the beers and wide-selection of cocktails are excellent and the environment/atmosphere is very good. I have thoroughly enjoyed all my visits to this bar.

I was in Jelly 2 weeks ago while visiting Chengdu and promised Yoni (head bar tender) to write an honest review for his birthday... :)

Jellyfish Bar is an interesting new place (Feb 2010) to hang out and a step up from most other (foreign) bars in Chengdu as far as I've seen.

The fresh interior and the outside sitting facilities make this place a comfortable place to take your date or a business relation.

Although the layout and atmosphere suggest otherwise, the prices are as low as most bars in Chengdu.

It's mainly a cocktail bar with plenty of house cocktails, but also has a nicely decked out 2nd floor with comfortable chairs and a pool table.

During the week its lounge but at the weekends the whole place turns into a club with live DJ entertainment - offering the crowd Western quality dancing music.

So, if you are looking for a clean Sino-European place to enjoy some of the beauties of Sichuan, this is the place to be ;)

I have only great things to say about this place. Finally Chengdu has a real bartender who knows how to make real drinks that make you really $*@!-Faced.

First we tried the Long Island Iced Teas. Yoni pours like a pro, 2 bottles in each hand and the alcohol almost reaches the top of a tall glass with ice. The reason you drink a Long Island Iced Tea is supposed to be that the amount of alcohol in them can give your buzz a head start, but in Chengdu most LIITs are 90% Coke. After the Jellyfish, I will never order LIIT anywhere else in Chengdu ever again.

Next we tried mojitos...everyone agreed they were also the best in Chengdu. (Yes, he uses real fresh mint.)

Next was Irish Car Bombs, which makes it a good time to note that Yoni pours a perfect beer. A nice slow pour into a frosted glass...again, the way it's meant to be.

...followed by another LIIT...as good as the first...

    Then came Jagger bombs...

And Yoni insisted that we try his Absinthe...He lights it on fire, then pours out the alcohol and captures the fumes in a glass. You then take a straw and inhale the fumes, followed by downing the shot. I didn't see the Green Fairy, but I was already having such a great time...

The final drink was Yoni's creation. We had run out of ideas and just told him to make us whatever he wanted. I don't know what was in it, I only remember that it was Orange and strong enough to let me know that I'd had enough.

Anyway, great drinks mixed by a real pro, definitely the best cocktail bar in Chengdu.
