    What can I say? First bar I went to upon arriving a year ago in chengdu and still one of my favorites.

    Where do i start? Danny and Dana, the bosses are ridiculously friendly each and everytime I go in there. They are always smiling and willing to have a chat and see whats new. The servers, Tina and Aida are hilarious and always super nice.

    Next, the food. Holy crap attention to detail. Every item that Ive ordered from the menu have been to die for. The pulled pork sandwich is out of this world. The nachoes are a mountain of cheesy goodness. The BBQ chicken pizza is a masterpiece. What else can I say? Just top quality across the board. And 12 kuai tacos on tuesdays? Just awesome.

    Drinks. Ima beer guy but always gravitate towards cocktails when im at the pug. They pour them strong, jsut the way I like it. No watered down crap here. Nice specials on lots of drinks everyday too.

    All I can say is keep doin what your doin, atmosphere, music (I love muddy waters and was surprised to hear you guys playing him.. and ray lamontagne, very nice) drinks, food. all top notch! Hurry up and get opened again and ill see you guys on the 19th!

    So its like this. I went there the first time with a friend and we sat at the table and ordered a burger. Absolutely delicious. I asked the waitress if they had tabasco and she went to check. 5 minutes later she said "I'm so sorry we dont have tabasco but here are some free cheeseballs" Super nice.

    Second time I went back, got another burger, cause they are awesome, and I guess one of the foreign bosses came over and said "Hey guys, enjoying your meal?" With mouths full, all of us nodded. 10 minutes later he came over with some free ice/slurpee shots and said "on the house"

    Third time they gave us some free dessert shot with chocolate and ice cream or something. I would never normally order something like this so it was a nice treat.

    I guess what Im trying to say is this place is awesome. They care about customers, the food is wicked good, Joes sandwich is freaking amazing and the service is unrivaled.

    Will definitely go back again and again. So happy chengdu finally has some competition with lazy pug, which i also absolutely adore.

    The food is super delicious especially this "rib styled" dish (I think it was a lotus root covered in vegetarian meat and thick brown sticky sauce).

    The service was a little poor, because they didn't really pay too much of attention...But when they did, they were really nice.

    In comparison with "regular" chinese restaurants here in Chengdu it's quite pricy, but I guess it's worth trying!

    The menu has pictures so you can just point at whatever looks appealing to you!

    i've stopped going to leanna's because i have been disappointed with their service lately. when i go to the restaurant to eat the food takes a really long time to come out, and i don't particularly enjoy the blaring christian music and children running around. when i try to order delivery they are short with me on the phone, never remember where i live, sometimes refuse to deliver to me (has happened on several occasions), and don't show up for about 2 hours usually anyway (and my food is completely cold).

    just not worth it for me personally. i've been able to find the stuff i was buying there elsewhere.

    Had a really bad experience during the Christmas dinner.

    Service was very slow, very slow - had to keep going up to ask Leanna? to come by our table, as the other staff were ignoring us and/or wouldn't stop.

    We finally went up to get our dessert to eat before the main course because things were taking so long.

    When the food showed up luke warm, at best, and again extremely late.

    I ordered the 'all you can eat' option, but by the time we'd even gotten our first plate, I was ready to leave, I was so annoyed with things.

    This was my first stop at Leanna's, and my last. Perhaps the cafe is great normally, but they couldn't handle the holidays (although honestly the staff didn't look that all that busy)

    I had to write a review on here as I feel that cafe z is a bit under rated. Obviously this is not the cheapest restaurant to eat at in Chengdu nor is it the most expensive. My wife and I go here on a regular basis and we both agree that the service is by far the best in Chengdu. The managers are extremely diligent and will go out of their way to cater to your needs. You can order off of the menu and expect to pay between 40-80 RMB per person without a drink. We always get the lunch buffet which costs about 150 RMB per person. If you venture around Chengdu and look at the other 5 star hotels, the buffet at cafe z definitely has the best value. The selection is a mix of Western and Asian tastes so it is a bit more balanced. I've personally found that the other 5 star hotels are too Cantonese and are a bit too rich on the meat side. That usually includes all kinds of crabs, shrimps, whole pigs (like Hawaiian), strange Cantonese organ meats, etc. The Shangra La also has some of these items at Cafe Z but they also have a full salad bar, sushi section, middle eastern section (kabobs, hummus, babbaghanoush (did I spell that right?), etc.), seafood section, high end Sichuan food, Indian food section, Dim sum bar and a noodle bar. I think they still may have pizza although you would have to ask. We know some of the staff at cafe z and they have informed us that they actually don't make that much money at cafe z since the restaurant is there to cater to the guests. Most of the vegetables are organic and imported from all over China, the seafood actually costs a lot for the restaurant to purchase and a lot of the items are imported from overseas. I look at this from an American viewpoint as this buffet would compete with some of the hotels in Las Vegas. 150 RMB is roughly $24-25.00 so I definitely think you get a lot for how much you pay. This also includes coffee and tea so if you add up how much everything that your consuming actually costs, you definitely get your money's worth. BTW the Shangra La's buffet in Hong Kong is 4-5x as expensive and the selection is totally different. If this buffet was offered in any tier 1 city, it would definitely cost at LEAST 2x as much.     I've been getting blonde highlights from Lain for a few months now, and he's truly the best in Chengdu, if you're a foreign client. His salon is modest in appearance, and the location is a bit sequestered, but his expertise with Caucasian hair is far and away the best you'll find in this city. No one else here even comes close to his expertise (and I've tried to patronize some of the high-end salons in expensive locations that claim they cater to foreign clientele. Don't believe them!) Truly, Lain is a great find. Moreover, he's very kind, accommodating, patient, and conscientious about his work. Plus, his English is terrific—and as other posters have mentioned, he's perfectly conversant in French and Mandarin as well!

    I recommend him to all my friends, especially the blondes! ;)

    My only warning is time: If you're getting your hair colored by him, be sure to plan to spend 3 to 4+ hours in the salon. He's very meticulous with the coloration process, and his assistants tend to take their time with the washing and drying process as well!

    Good Evening German Fast Food Lovers,

    as i saw the Mails here i really need to check my Staff :( I try my best make the Service more Fast and as we make a small Food Factory near the Airport we can Deliver now mostly of the used food produced by ourself with original german reciepe and not that (copy) thing we need to buy in wholesale stores. An other good news what i wanna tell is that cuz we are now have the factory to produce the Doener Meat and other good stuff we can rebuild the Shop and make TABLE AND SEATS inside :). And as u know the high transfer costs of good places we are still searching for a good Location where we not need to pay transfer costs above 15000 RMB .. SO hope we will see u soon back in KDK FOOD and its real fresh ingredients bought by myself

    Agreed, problem is their cocktails. I ordered Margarita, taste like no alcohol at all. I asked their staff, she said she already followed standard of this bar. After some arguments finally she make me new cup, and I satisfied.

    Atmosphere is good, music is great. Overall it's not bad.

    We are new to Chengdu and are happy to have Mike's Pizza close by! It will be our Friday or Saturday night family tradition. The choice of toppings is great...I love artichoke, chicken, and goat cheese and many pizza places don't offer those. Friendly, prompt service and great taste. Thanks for this taste of home!!!

    Having read the wonderful 5 star reviews of this place I went with hopes of being able to verify why others gave this joint 5 stars. i cannot write a 5 star review about Safari so I will write my experience and leave off any stars. We went at lunch time on a Wednesday. The place was empty. We ordered appetizers. Drinks? I'll have ice lemon tea. Sorry, no have. The soda with rose syrup was wonderful. Appetizers came. Why do places like this combine local food and still call it foreign? Eggplant with chili using the same chili relish type of sauce found in local places. Hummus, ok but still nothing to write home about. The yogurt with cucumber and garlic. I hate runny yogurt because it hasn't been given time to set. Safari has runny yogurt. Falafel balls were tasty, no problem there. Ordered up my main dish. I ordered spicy chicken and a side of roast potatoes. My friend ordered the moussaka. His came. Why is it cold? Why does it taste like bad spaghetti bolognaise? The potatoes come. Er, its no different from the potatoes on the street rolled in la jiao. What's going on here? The waitress returns, sorry no spicy chicken. maybe you can try the fasolya. Ok, I'll have that. She returns, sorry no fasolya, maybe you can try... at this point my anger flashed. And where is the owner? Oh he comes later. Maybe true maybe not, who can you believe? Who can say for sure in this unpredictable place. 5 stars? That will be the day.

    Wanted to notify everyone the spot will be open 24h all thru the holiday. That means that from yesterday morning the doors will not close all the way till this holiday ends (next Sunday night, Oct 7). Late nighters, early birds are always welcome for a cappuccino and eggs Benedict or a beerlao and a deluxe burger. Everyday, anytime.

    Sam is what makes Safari so special..never Have I met a restaurant owner who is so engaging with his customers...the food is really good and all the dips and side dishes I tried were sooo much better than any I had in china, and the hookah is brilliant so basically it is a restaurant that you just have to go to and Sam is a person you have to meet
