200 kuai for a noname rapper that looks like a talking baozi?
If you have any interest in history or photography I highly recommend to check out the exhibition of Li Zhensheng which shows glimpses of the madness during the Cultural revolution. I've seen the pictures before many times and you can check them out on his website, but seeing them in big prints is another surreal experience again.
Also if you like 2step/garage & grime DJ Royal T has a nice selection that is unheard of in Chengdu.
Strawberry is not even trying, looks like they actively seek to self destroy their festival by holding it on a Monday & Tuesday after a public holiday without bothering to publish a line up.
Papa U-Gee @ Jah Bar looks promising. Anyone else going?
"It's October Holidays - how about we don't have hold any events for all the people who don't have to work so they can bore themselves to death?"
On a serious note check out Inti Santana from Cuba in the Little Bar.
PSy in Chengdu? The weid thing is that there are no tickets for sale yet and it's only 5 days to go. Considering the venue's past (Big Love) I'd be cautious:)
There are 12
"high-speed" trains daily leaving from the East and South Train Station and from Shuangliu Airport station for E'mei. They take about 1.5 hours. Tickets are RMB65-78. From the station you can take a taxi
Alternatively you could take a bus from Xinnanmen Station or more frequently from Shiyang Station in the South (every half hour or so).
Here's an amazing detail: Driving three-wheel or four-wheel electric (max speed below 60kmph) cars apparently around Sichuan apparently doesn't require a drivers license!
henan took it to the next level
first 5.5 hours felt a bit like this
It would make great sense as an overnight train but so you just get up very early in the morning to run to the train station where almost all shops are closed and arrive at night when all subways stop running and you have to take another taxi to the hotel for very late check-in.
Unless you're really broke, with hordes of children or aviophobic not really worth the extra 10 hours. Avoid 2nd class by any chance. The most interesting landscape is in the rather short section between Fengde and Yichang.
technically the full moon is the day after, so it should be September 9. and autumn starts in september 22/23 making mid-autumn around November 6/7(if by autumn you refer to leaves losing chlorophyll, well that hasn't happen yet in this part of the world either). But it's all good people in Chengdu were also celebrating Octoberfest in May/ June.
@jellyfish forgot to thank to us for staying to decent and independent and not corrupting ourselves like media in other chinese cities:)
early bird tickets for sale RMB150
That's for two days, later pre-sale will be RMB260 and at the door RMB150 will get you in only for one day
so now Strawberry is cut to 3 stages and 2 days May 31 & June 1, and it's taking the same location as Zebra: 198 Poly Park
this was a translation of the statement by the zoo keepers. these tigers are an endangered species and with a total population of 2500. one could argue them to be close to extinct as they are getting close to the critical mass. DNA tests show that humans at one point were also almost extinct from earth as the total population dropped to 4 diggets, at which point one natural accident may have ended the species. The tigers in the report however are white tigers which are rare inbreds and beyond extinct as naturally they don't exist in numbers only odd exceptions.
Luckily there is a German supplier that I know. PM me
bonaparte was a good show and even better was the sound, thanks to the sound engineer.
