Great pictures. Those Sichuan chiles look pretty spicy.
Wonderful pictures. Like # 22 the best. Keep up the great work.
Doesn't look like there is any pollution in the sky in Chengdu. Still looks like a great place to live even in the 1980s.
That is an amazing story. Missionaries had to overcome so much in order to make an impact in China. Adapting to the culture, dealing with wars, and an unstable environment. Truly amazing people with a vision for a better tomorrow.
Do you really need a witty police officer to make criminals seem funny?
Really cool post. It is like a journey through history. Can't imagine what it would have been a missionary in China during that time frame. Must have been tough living, at least by today's standards. Wonder how he tried to convert people with limited language skills. Must have needed an interpreter.
Wow, kudos to the bus driver for making it to the hospital driving at 60km per hour. He would have been a true legend if he would have kept making the stops. (remember Kramer in Seinfeld).
Fantastic pictures, Dan. This makes me want to travel to China and take up photography. Keep up the great work. You'll one day be selling to National Geographic.
Great pictures of Bali. Hear the beaches there are great.
Cool sayings. Also, know the number 8 plays a large part in Chinese culture, too. Any insight into its use?
That is great that Chengdu will be linked to so many cities with high speed trains. Wondering how much tickets will be? Probably be much more expensive because of new technology.
What a noble effort. Helping anyone in distress is always a good deed in my book. Kudos to the laowai that helped the Chinese woman.
