I'm sure you've read about it in the news recently (http://shanghaiist.com/[...] well it happened to me yesterday.
I was down to my last bit of my burger only to find I'd been eating slimey grey meat. Nice. Fast forward to the evening and I started feeling dizzy, cold and aching all over. Shortly after I'm enjoying V & D.
Here's the address
It's on Yidu Road, right next to Ito-Yokado in the east of chengdu on the second ring road.
Maybe give it a miss.
To be honest, you should get in touch with your area contact and tell them exactly what you're thinking. Over the 6 month period they'll have people coming and going from their teaching positions so they'll expect some people to not be completely happy with where they are.
I was told I was going to be in chengdu but was actually placed 3 hours north out in the arse end of no where.
That said, you might be a 60 rmb taxi journey away, but actually there's a bunch of cool stuff about being the only foreigner in the area (which I might point out, you're not).
Just saw the ad for Magma's Strawberry Festival after party and whilst I think drinking is great fun. Attempting 24 shots in five minutes is, (do I really need to say it?), stupid.
And then I read this article and concluded running that sort of competition is plain irresponsible.
You seen this ad?

Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Way too vague and seems like a copy and paste job as they didn't change the city.
Note: I did not ask 'What should I do?' I am not looking for advice to just ignore it as it's not my business. On a very basic level it disrupts my sleep, on a human level, we shouldn't just ignore injustice like this.
Practical advice welcome.

@long ai gu
I was going to a write a proper response, but after reading your other posts I feel kinda sorry for you. Twelve years here but on a merchants visa, things clearly haven't worked out because you're having to scrap the barrel and try to get private teaching jobs because (I assume) schools won't touch you with your fake degree. You clearly are suffering from culture shock (still) but you can't go back to Canada.
I think I would be pretty angry too, however, it shouldn't aimed at anyone else but yourself.
I hope you get the help you need.
The key is to talk about it with people. Try to make friends with some locals, learn and bit of the language and you will feel a lot more settled in no time.
