most shops selling air tickets offer both of these services, just ask. in fact, any small shop u see has a computer/printer/copier, just ask. usually 1 kuai.

agree with @invisible though I am doubtful u would find an "authentic" Les Paul Custom or Stratocaster. Most likely some decent acoustic or classical guitars.

A good first start may be the do-it-yourself chain "B&Q" (a British company operating here similar to home depot of the U.S.). Chengdu has at least 2 locations that I have seen: one in the south on hangkong road (near mid kehua road) and another in the northwest (can't quite remember that exact location though). Good luck!

    • Forums > Food & Drink > where to get good bread in Chengdu?

@invisible: I was indeed talking (primarily) about the baguette (which is thoroughly enjoyed with Sof's delicious butter and sometimes awesome cheese offering not to mention some grapes, wine...). I have not eaten the dark bread at either place so will trust you and others if you say that CfeZ's dark bread is acceptable. Kudos to you for baking your own; you probably can more than hold your own against what's available here (i just baked an amazing pecan pie...felt like i was back in the southern U.S.).

@berly: Thanks for the tip. I would be happy to try it...I wanna believe that sooner or later Chengdu will attract some foreigners that will set up shop here and bring some creative Western tastes to this city (sichuan food is fantastic but IMO has too much oil to be eaten every day).

Sorry to disagree but IMHO cafe z's bread (and all of their other food) is abysmal. If you really want decent bread, Sofitel (their "cafe z counterpart" on the 2nd floor) is WAY better (actually tastes like French bread); not to mention that they have delicious butter and sometimes some pretty decent cheese. Re; the so-called "bakeries" in chengdu...Andersen, Rosa, Tillen, Gigi or Holiand...they all taste like processed food to me (a la pepperidge farm or what not).

    • Chengdu > Del Mar
      地中海餐厅

I agree with others about the relaxed environment and will state emphatically that service was attentive and friendly each time i visited here (no exceptions). Food was also pretty decent - some of the pastas are tasty as are some of the appetizers.

    • Chengdu > Pizza Mandolino
      披萨曼陀玲

i gratuitously give them one star because of the brick oven which did result in a decent pizza crust - however the sauce was off so i didn't eat much. Unfortunately the pasta was horrible so i ended up paying my bill and leaving hungry.

there is no way that this is owned by an italian...no self-respecting italian i have ever met would serve such dreck. If the food wasn't a dead give-away, then certainly the gaudy over-the-top decor should tip you off. oh yeah, let's by no means leave out the whole fake mandolino story/schtick on the menu, hahaha. I was almost offended by their hubris: do you really believe people are THAT stupid?

    • Chengdu > Le Sud
      南方法国餐厅

We also happened by here many times to find them closed...when we arrived at 11:45am one day to actually find the door ajar, the young man abruptly and in a very dismissive manner told us that they didn't open until noon. We acquiesced to his wish and went away leaving him to get back to his video game or qq messaging. Haha.
