I wouldn't say this is off the beaten path. Camera market, KFC, easy access to Kuanzhai & Dufu's are beaten paths. I'd be curious to know more about foreigners residing in Chengdu's outer districts like Xipu or Dayi or smthg or generally not in China's big cities. At least that's what I thought I might read about from the article title....
