    • trip to siguniang mountain

Classifieds > Personals > Friends & Activity Partners

      Hi to all fellow travelers,

We (3 people) are planning a trip to siguniang mountain on the 25th of April 2013 - just before the mad May holiday rush. We are going on a trek through the mountains....

We intend to hire a car to the mountain and it will be really good to find a few (1-3) more people to help split the costs

1 bus ticket costs around 150RMB and hiring a car will cost about 1000RMB in total. ETA by car = 5-6 hours. ETA by bus = 9-10 hours

So if anyone is planning a trip to Siguniang mountain during that time, please do let me know...

After we get there, we can either split up, or you can even join us on the trek.

      My email is lerouxvdh@yahoo.com

      Hi to all fellow travelers,

We (2 people) are planning a trip to siguniang mountain on the 25th of April 2013 - just before the mad May holiday rush. We are going on a trek through the mountains....

We are looking into the possibility of hiring a car, instead of taking a bus. And it will really be worth it too if we can find 2-4 more people willing to join us to split the costs.

1 bus ticket costs around 130RMB and hiring a car will cost about 800RMB in total. ETA by car = 4-5 hours. ETA by bus = 8-9 hours

So if anyone is planning a trip to Siguniang mountain during that time, please do let me know...

After we get there, we can either split up, or you can even join us on the trek.

If a movie is available online at a price it'll also be available for free.
Movies that hasn't been released on DVD are often not available to download either (at least not in good quality)
Cloud Atlas seems to be an example - can watch it, but bad quality.

I'm sure there are many other ways to download movies, but this is what I do.....
download uTorrent at http://www.utorrent.com/downloads (choose the uTorrent stable option)

After downloaded and installed, go to torrentz.eu
search your movie and click on one of the non-sponsored torrent links.
Then on the new page just click on torrentdownloads.me or torrenthound.com and just look for and click the download torrent button. Follow the prompts and the movie (or whatever you are downloading) will show up on uTorrent.

Here you can download just about anything that's available online. (movies/series/music/games/books/the works)
Can be slightly daunting in the beginning, but play with it and very soon you'll get the hang of it.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    • Forums > Living in Chengdu > anyone celebrating the end of the world?

21st of December is approaching real fast
Where will you be and what will you be doing on armageddon?

I'm not really 1 to celebrate special events, but the end of the world is as good (probably slightly better) an excuse as any to do something special.

No, I don't really think the world is going to end (or that even something remotely big will happen) on the 21/12/2012, but it's still a huge date, one that has probably been talked about more than any other in recent history... and its a date that has been in the back of my mind since my high school years, 15 years ago.

So, I was just wondering —- what's going on in chengdu to celebrate the end of our existence?

would love to hear how people are planning to celebrate

    • Forums > Living in Chengdu > Rugby world cup!!!!

      Hi,

I'm a rugby fan myself and have been trying to no end to watch international rugby online, but its no easy feat.

A nr of years ago I used to use www.myp2p.eu and still does sometimes, but the site has problems at times and the feeds not always very good. They always provide alot of links for live streaming, and there is usually 1 or 2 of them that'll give you good quality. Filtering through the garbage does take quite a bit of time and because rugby is a relatively brief game, before you know it, you've missed 20minutes trying to find a good stream, and a quarter of the game gone.
      Its 100% free though
This is the site I used during the 2007 world cup.

I've just recently come back to China, and now exploring all my options again.
I'm living in temporary accommodation and the speed of the internet is pretty slow (probably 384kb/s), so its hard for me to make a good judgement which way will be the best to go.

Few streams are going to give you nice smooth pictures with this speed, especially for international rugby as alot of people tune in.
So under these circumstances here is what I can tell you:
      I found this site http://www.watchliverugbyworldcup.com/
In desperation, I paid the subscription fee, which is $20 and you have access for a full year. The site is not limited to rugby, but gives you numerous good links to all kinds of sport (tennis, cricket, football, whatever)
However, yet again the links of the rugby of the last few big test matches was a start-stop affair. Some links I can watch without having any problems at all with some good quality, but as soon as its a big game, the quality is just not the same as there too many people tuning in.

Keep in mind that I'm using a slow internet line.

I'm moving to a more permanent accommodation at the end of the month and I'm planning to get real fast internet there. I have no idea how the quality will be affected by I'm HOOOPING it'll do the trick. I'll let you know how it goes.
      Hope it helps

If you happen to find anything good in your search, please let me know.
