    • Chengdu to pilot free bike-rental program

I lived in Paris for a while, and in 2007 they started the "Rental bikes".

The difference with having your own bike is that you can just rent one for a one-way ride to the center let's say. You meet with friends, then later at night you move with them to a club. With your own bike, you would have to go back to the first place and do the return journey home.

It worked well in Paris, because there was a LOT of bike stations (every 300m or so). Very convenient at night as well, to come back from parties after subway has closed (midnight).

Paris's bikes were free for 30min, which was enough to cross half of the city. Wait another 5 min, and you could pick up another one for 30 min for free.

      Drawbacks were:
      - stations often empty in the center near touristic spots
      - stations full at night and no damn possibilities to return the bike (you'd have to ride around a few blocks to find an empty space in a station)
      - LOTS of volunteerly damaged bikes. But many young French are bastards.

Bikes are ID identification, so no one would steel them. Also, bikes were pretty heavy and unconfortable, I wouldn't see a thief driving it all day... not fancy at all!

Chengdu free bikes, let's have a try!

    • Chengdu > L'escargot
      小小家咖啡法式甜品

Been there a couple of times and I really enjoy the salads and the thick, generous quiches. Slices and cakes served on decorated plates: nice & delicate French touch. Thumbs up for the deco of the place too, makes it warm and cozy. High tables for a quick lunch and some more comfy seats for a longer dinner. Keep up the good work!
PS: MajorMafan says "it is not particularly French" WTF ? I am French, so trust me: L'escargot has both typical and original French food that one can find in France, for real.

    • Chengdu > 25 Hours Fitness Club
      25小时健身俱乐部成都青羊店

I just registered there, it is a nice gym with a large open space full with machines. Very large room for fitness lessons, you won't feel packed inside. You have SPACE.

Clean and neat showers & locker rooms.

A bit expensive maybe compared to other gyms I've seen (1200 RMB/6 months), private teacher 140 RMB/h.

    • Chengdu > Seven Club

Really enjoyed my Halloween night in Seven Club, good dance music (DJ was a friend), mainstream. It is a Chinese club, small dancefloor packed with girls, and all te men sitting and drinking at the tables surrounding. Very pleasant night & happy crowd having fun!

    • Chengdu > Le Café Panam(e)
      巴黎咖啡

As a French, I HAD to go to the Café! Was quiet on that early evening of Saturday night, but quickly become full of cheerful people after 10pm. Music ok, nice staff and cold beers, although I was expecting a more "French" decoration...
