I'm sure, like me, when your are on the way back home from work, you're sometimes wondering " what am i going to cook tonight? " or " how should I explain my ayi to cook that dish". Don't you ?
Well stop thinking, I found the solution for you : "Cuisine mei wenti French bilingual cookbook"!
This Mediterranean French inspired recipe book has changed my life...well I exaggerate a little, but it has really helped me.
It is bilingual. I have the French-Chinese version but I know the English-Chinese version exists as well.
It offers a wide range of recipes : soups, salads, quiche lorraine, onion tart, lasagna bolognaise, fruits desserts, cakes and puddings.... My favorite is salmon mango tartare !
Actually, Olivia Guinebault, a French cooking teacher started teaching in Shanghai for both foreigners and Chinese people French cuisine and ran as well cooking classes specifically aimed at training Ayis. So her cookbook is really well made because it is honed by the feedback from her students.
It provides a basic guide to western cuisine with instructions (on how to set the table and plan a dinner party).
And what I appreciate is that you can easily find the ingredients.
For the moment, I haven't seen the book in Chengdu. But it may exist at Bookworm? Anyway you can order it to the author directly and she'll ship it for you.
I think you'll find her contact on www.cuisinemeiwenti.com
Hope you'll enjoy as much as I do!
Bon appetit !
I love the atmosphere very much. It's nice to go there to read or have a glace.
By the way, does anyone know if they sell this great guide : Cuisine mei wenti french cookbook? It is a bilingual french cookbook.
If you'd like to start cooking it's really great. And since it's written in english, french and chinese, your ayi can also use it!
I know it exist but I'm not sure Bookworm has it.
