three words for ya: H AND M
I'd recommend Owen's English School. I've taught with them for a year and am pretty blown away at how they've helped when I've needed it and called just to make sure things are OK. I have other schools to compare it to and I think they seem even better because of it.
I've tried a bunch, Hokkaido in the Champagne Plaza was by far the worst for price and service, however I ordered from the menu, nothing was said about the all-you-can-eat. 1st floor Champagne plaza (the name escapes me, thankfully) also had really bad sushi, where I felt the need to text a friend that I had eaten there in case I got hit with food poisoning. The server was pretty helpful, offering to heat up the rock-hard, frozen piece of salmon sushi... Tried the fourth floor of the Galleria, U-Roll today. Despite the name, they roll for you and it was pretty 马马虎虎, just OK. Invisible mentioned the Isetan basement grocery store sushi... The best in town by far for size and value and freshness, and you don't have to worry about service, bonus.
please please please do not scratch Fish bone off your list, they rock! I had the very opposite experience there and I'm sad the other folks that feel that way. I felt really welcomed and immediately felt that I was in a place where they knew what was going on. I brought an image in and explained (in English) what I wanted and got way more, it's really stunning, the colours shading, needless to say I'm really happy. The price is extremely reasonable too and especially when you're getting good ink, there's some things in this world you don't want to cheap out on... This is far from my first tattoo but by far my best and best experience.
Instead of everybody buying these plane tickets to go home for the summer, save a couple thou. and eat at the Pug. I was not in China when I ate there(I love China but a break never hurts). I felt that I was back in Canada, a restaurant that makes everything on site, consciousness to favour and creativity. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The music to the vivid colours of the art on brick. If your business is in F and B why not put your heart in it? These guys covered everything.
I think reviews are very“to each his(or her) own”. I like this place. Not only do I always run into people I know, but there’s a lot of traffic for travelers too. People aren’t too uptight for the most part, just trying to forget the day. I find the staff is always friendly and their English is good (getting better everyday), not to mention you couldn’t get a nicer guy to run the place. If you’re looking for a beer, game of pool(beware of sharks) and a often “Cheers”-like atmosphere, then great. If you want a bar exactly like home, then you might want to head back. (PS. you’re in China).
