The past couple of days my toilet has been "leaking" every time I flush. It was installed by a random 工人 who seems have known little about anything he has installed in my bathroom.
So yesterday I went to one of those stores that sells water heaters and all that jazz, and someone came to help "fix" it yesterday by resealing the toilet to the floor. Today, I'm having the same problem I had two days ago, only I'm down 300rmb for a job that may or may not have been necessary......
Does anyone know if their are actual plumbers in Chengdu, who have some sort of training in diagnosing plumbing issues?
If so, please let me know.
I'm looking for a good company that helps link up English tutors with Chinese students. I have 2 years of teaching experience and some free-time in the evenings. I'm really just looking to make some extra money helping people in my area to learn English. Does anyone know of a good middle-man company like this?
I am thinking about moving to Chengdu next year and read some of the old entries on this forum. It sounds like south Chengdu is a good place to live to avoid downtown. I have a few questions:
1. What are the best parts of south Chengdu (best for Sichuan or ethnic culture/food)?
2. Do any districts have relatively cleaner air?
3. Which accommodations do you think are most commonly over-looked by new foreigners in Chengdu?
I am currently in Shanghai, but prefer the parts that do not have too many western distractions. I would also like to be within a reasonable transit route to 四川大学.
Thanks in advance!
I love the pizza at this place, but had a rather annoying experience there the other night. I guess one of the staff members messed up an order which no cares about, cause we're in Chengdu, and you can always fix shit, but Mike decided to make a scene out of it by screaming at the staff member in front of the whole restaurant. It was pretty annoying, because I wanted to show a Chinese friend some good non-Pizza Hut pizza, but I ended feeling like embarrassed by my fellow laowai. There must be a classier way to deal with an employee who screws up......
